Brian May reveals new details of Freddie Mercury's last days
On November 24, 1991 the world lost a legend - The iconic Freddie Mercury died at only 45.
Only 24 hours before his death Mercury released a statement annoucing his battle with AIDS, to help raise awareness.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Brian May revealed what Mercury was like in his final days.
He said the disease that claimed Mercury's life affected his eyesight and one of his feet had to be mostly amputated.
“The problem was actually his foot,” May told the Times. “Tragically there was very little left of it. Once, he showed it to us at dinner. And he said, ‘Oh Brian, I’m sorry I’ve upset you by showing you that.’ And I said, ‘I’m not upset, Freddie, except to realise you have to put up with all this terrible pain.'”
So awful to hear, Freddie Mercury will always remain a legend with one of the most iconic voices of all time.
