Deep Purple's Glenn Hughes escorted off stage by paramedics at Christchurch show

News 27/09/2017

Former Deep Purple bassist Glenn Hughes was escorted off stage at his Christchurch show last night.

The opening show of his NZ tour at Horncastle Arena in Christchurch was cut short due to a medical issue, with 15 minutes of his set still remaining.

He was assessed by doctors in Christchurch earlier today who said he was suffering from dehydration and fatigue.

He will however continue the rest of his tour tonight at Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre.

A statement from tour publicist Sandra Roberts said Hughes "has been given a clean bill of health and the all clear to continue his New Zealand tour".

We hope he is feeling better.
