The Keeper (2018, Drama, English/German with subtitles, rated M, 115 mins)
Cast: David Kross, Freya Mavor. Director: Marcus H Rosenmuller.
Bert Trautmann is a German POW held in England at the end of WWII and, much to his surprise, is recruited into a local football team in desperate need of a goalie. A move that doesn’t go down well with the locals or the team. Even more surprising is when Bert is later asked to try out as goalkeeper for Manchester City. While based on Trautmann's life, this film spans so much more than his life playing football, so will appeal to a broad audience.
