Mike Currie on The Sound Nights

We're saying goodbye to our longtime night show host Mark Smith (he's off to make some Magic) and this week we welcome rock 'n' roller Mike Currie to The Sound team as the new host of The Sound Nights.

Mikes no stranger to night-time radio, his last tenure on a station was for 13 years!.

It all started seeing Deep Purple at age 10, climbing out his bedroom window at 14 to see The Clash, Devo and Kiss on different occasions and pilfering milk-bottle money to buy records.

There's no doubting it, music is something he's seriously passionate about. With his unique off-beat style you'll learn lots, laugh and love the tunes he chooses.

Join him nightly for a rare cut called 'Lost and Found' at 7.30pm, let the music breath properly for the 'Long One At Nine', take a trip in the rock n roll time machine for the "10 @ 10" and serve up some piping hot vinyl on the 'Album Side at 11'

The only thing he asks is that you play it LOUD!
7pm to 1am weeknights on The Sound
