Kansas are preparing for their first new album in 16 years next month with the release of one of the LP’s songs.
You can listen to the track, “With This Heart,” above. The Prelude Implicit is due on Sept. 23, and it marks Kansas’ first album since 2000’s Somewhere to Elsewhere.
During that time, the band was on the road quite a bit, and released a trio of live records in that period.
They also lost longtime singer Steve Walsh, who left in 2014, saying that “it’s time for me to go, and yes, it makes me sad to have to admit that.”
The Prelude Impact will be the first Kansas LP to feature lead vocals by Ronnie Platt, the keyboardist who replaced Walsh not long after his departure.
