A hole in one has helped Lydia Ko surge up the leaderboard in the third round of the Rio Olympics golf tournament.
Ko aced the par three eighth hole to move to eight-under for the tournament, three shots off the lead and into a share of fourth.
Then on the ninth Ko nailed another birdie to be out in 29 shots and move into a tie for second place at -9. The 19-year-old world No.1 found form with her putter to birdie three of her first six holes before her eagle at the 154-yard hole moved her further up the leaderboard.
Ko had started the day seven shots off the pace after opening rounds of 69 and 70 left her in a share of 22nd.
Overnight leader, South Korea's Inbee Park birdied the opening hole to move to -11.
