Steven Tyler auctions off his rare 'fastest street-legal car' for charity
Steven Tyler has sold his rare 2012 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder for $800,000 and donated all the proceeds to Janie's Fund.
Janie's Fund is a charity that helps young girls who have suffered from abuse and neglect.
The car was originally purchased for $1.1 million and the winning bidder also gets a vacation stay in Tyler's beautiful home in Hawaii as well as a guitar autographed by Aerosmith.
In a statement he said "We raised enough tonight to provide 20,000 days of therapeutic support to abused girls across America. As a father to three daughters, a son, and now a grandfather, it broke my heart to learn that each year in America alone, 700,000 children are victims of serious abuse or neglect – and 68,000 will be sexually abused. Together through Janie’s Fund, we’re helping girls rebuild their lives and overcome the trauma they experienced.”
