Watch Bruce Springsteen's emotional performance "My Hometown" at The Tony Awards

live 12/06/2018

Two nights ago, Bruce Springsteen sang "My Hometown" while playing on the piano at The 2018 Tony Awards. The performance was emotion-provoking, especially when minutes prior, Robert De Niro began introducing Springsteen with "I'm gonna say one thing, f*** Trump", live on national television.

"Bruce, you can rock the house like nobody else and even more important in this perilous times. You rock the vote, always fighting for, in your own words, truth, transparency and integrity and government. Boy, do we need that now."

With those words in mind, watching Springsteen's moving performance is thought provoking and potentially emotionally overwhelming for some.

As the original video uploaded by CBS has been made unavailable, we managed to find a bootleg from one of the audiences that you can watch above.

Springteen received a special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatre for his wildly acclaimed show, Springsteen on Broadway.
