Bob Dylan '60s live rarities collection to be released

music news 24/07/2018

Bob Dylan announces Live 1962 – 1966: Rare Performances From the Copyright Collections, a two-CD set previously only available in Japan, will be getting a global release on 27th July via Sony.

The songs are drawn from limited-run compilations Sony has released over the past six years to protect the rarities from European copyright law that stipulates any recordings will enter the public domain if unreleased for 50 years.

The collection is said to include the earliest known recording of "Blowin' in the Wind" taped in 1962 and a duet with Joan Baez on "When the Ship Comes In", recorded just before Martin Luther King Kr. gave his famed "I Have a Dream" speech. It also features "Ballad of a Thin Man" where Dylan performs with The Hawks in Scotland.

Dylan is currently on a world tour and is scheduled to wrap up in Aug. 28 where he'll be playing in Christchurch.
