"My Sweet Lord" was George Harrison's very first single after The Beatles broke up.

Inspired by his personal Hinduism beliefs and the massively popular '69 gospel track, "Oh Happy Day" by the Edwin Hawkin Singers, he aspired to write a song that would bridge gaps between Hinduism and Christianity while exploring roots and soul music.
