Bless the rains! All the Burger King joints in London's Camden Town played Toto's "Africa" all day yesterday (7th Aug) on a dare.
Burger King UK posted on Twitter saying, "If this tweet gets 1,000 RTs (retweets), we'll play Toto - Africa all day in one of our restaurants"
The tweet had over 6,400 retweets, which meant Burger King had to keep their promise. They shared another tweet in the morning yesterday, "I bless the rains down in Camden Town, head to our restaurant there today if you want to sing along."
Earlier this year, Toto guitarist Steve Lukather said in an interview,
"It's been one hell of a year. It's insane. It's kinda like God gave us a gift, I don't know what we did to deserve it. All this crazy 'Africa' stuff, all the millennials starting to get into our music, and the records are flying out of the store, half a billion streams on Spotify, 40 million records...
"How did this happen?! When did we get hip? We must have outlived all the hipsters, it's the only thing I can think of. Because we were never in style so we could never be out of style."
