Mick Jagger has teased fans on Twitter with a photo post and a caption, "Writing lyrics #newmusic".
Earlier last month, Jagger hinted that the Rolling Stones started working on new music when he first shared a video of himself doing a harmonica part on "new tunes".
Although he did not give out any other details, his post went viral, and there were plenty of rumours that 2019 will be a big year for the band. Roughly a week later, he posted a photo of himself outside Sun studios in Memphis, Tennessee.
They released their last LP, "A Bigger Bang", in 2005 and recorded two new tracks for their 2012 compilation album. "GRRR!". They later released a covers album in 2016 titled "Blue & Lonesome".
The band's manager, Joyce Smyth had commented in an interview with Music Business Worldwide that they have big plans over the next year that includes studio work as well as live plans and more.
She also confirms that the band is hoping to make new music and is considering adding other genres. "... certainly "This Could Be The Last Time" isn’t on any setlist I’ve seen." Smyth adds, "We're looking forward, not backwards, the whole time."
