Bohemian Rhapsody was the big winner at the Golden Globes this year much to the surprise of the plenty in attendance, taking home the award for Best Actor in a Drama (Rami Malek) and Best Picture (Drama)
Rami Malek looked absolutely taken away when he accepted his Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture. After his shock of winning the award, the 37-year-old, LA-born actor thanked a heap of people who were involved in the project.
But Malek ended his speech by thanking and dedicating his award to the man himself, Freddie Mercury
He said: "Thank you to Freddie Mercury for giving me the joy of a lifetime. I love you, you beautiful man. This is for and because of you, gorgeous."
Rami also paid tribute to surviving members of Queen, guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, who still tour with singer Adam Lambert taking vocal duties. Rami sat with May and Taylor for the duration of the glitzy ceremony. He thanked them ‘for ensuring that authenticity and inclusivity exists in music and in the world and all of us’.
With it's amazing succes at the golden globes, fans of Malek and Queen will be eagerly waiting if they can replicate their success at the 91st Academy Awards in Febuary
