During an emergency open-heart surgery last week, ex-Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham has suffered damages to his vocal cord.

Currently, he's recovering well at home with his wife, Kristen Buckingham.

Kristen posted a photograph of them in the hospital with a caption, "While he and his heart are doing well, the surgery resulted in vocal cord damage."

While it is unclear if this damage is permanent, we are hopeful it is not.

“This past year has been a very stressful and difficult year for our family to say the least,” Kristen adds. “But despite all of this, our gratitude for life trumps all obstacles we have faced at this moment. We feel so fortunate that he’s alive. As does he. He looks forward to recovery and putting this behind him. Needless to say, all touring and shows currently schedule have been put on pause for the moment as he gathers the strength to heal completely.”

Despite the recent dismissal of Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac, his ex-band has expressed their support via Twitter, sending their thoughts and love to Buckingham.

The tweet reads, "We are saddened by this news. Our thoughts and love go out to Lindsey and his entire family. We are hopeful for his speedy recovery."

Just two months ago, Buckingham settled with the Fleetwood Mac lawsuit. While it is still obvious that he's hurting from the sudden dismissal, he says that it is still too soon for him to "miss Fleetwood Mac".
