LISTEN: Tom Petty's previously unreleased track, 'For Real'

New 18/02/2019

A new song from the archives of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers has been released to tease an upcoming two-disc career retrospective, "The Best of Everything".

Listen to "For Real" below.

Dubbed as a "supplement to last year's critically lauded, career-spanning box set An American Treasure," the new 38-track set is now available for pre-order, arriving on 1st March.

Geffen Records explains that the unique cross-label collection is sequenced as a "hard-hitting playlist" that balances the prominence of the entire catalogue, taken from Petty's solo projects, works from his time with the Heartbreakers as well as "essentials" from the reformed Mudcrutch.

"The Best of Everything" will be released in LP editions on black and clear vinyl as well as in all digital formats. A previously unheard alternate version of the title track (from the 1985 album, Southern Accents) will also be included with an additional unheard verse.

In addition, the collection will also feature "Free Fallin'", "I Won't Back Down" and "Running Down a Dream", all taken from Petty's solo album, "Full Moon Fever" that has recently been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
