WATCH: David Gilmour performs 'Comfortably Numb' in Pompeii

live 06/03/2019

Watch David Gilmour perform the classic Pink Floyd track, 'Comfortably Numb', live in Pompeii.

Taken from the 2017 concert film titled 'Live in Pompeii', Gilmour has shared the video early this year to promote his massive guitar auction that takes place in June later this year.

In the video, Gilmour can be seen playing on his 1969 black Stratocaster, which will be among the guitars being auctioned off for charity. The electric guitar is expected to go for about $100,000 to $150,000 in U.S. dollars.

Guitars were made to be played and it is my wish that wherever they end up, they continue to give their owners the gift of music.

Gilmour says that the guitars he had collected over the years "have been very good" to him. "Many of them have gifted me pieces of music over the years. They have paid for themselves many times over, but it’s now time that they moved on," he says.

“If we can do our little bit to help with those larger, global issues, I’ll be a happier person,” Gilmour claims. All sales from the auction will go to his charitable foundation to "help do some good in this world."
