Actor Luke Perry has passed away after suffering a massive stroke last week.
According to the publicist, Perry passed away yesterday, surrounded by his family and friends at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank.
The 52-year-old star was rushed to the hospital mid last week after suffering the stroke. Perry's representatives tells TMZ that doctors had sedated him in hopes of allowing time for his brain to recover. Unfortunately, the damage was too extensive, leading to Perry's death.
"Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke," the official statement reads. "He was surrounded by his children, Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time."
Perry also stars in 'Riverdale' as Archie Andrews' father, Fred. He was also well known as Dylan McKay in 'Beverly Hills, 90210' during the '90s.
