WATCH: Eric Clapton plays an electric version of 'Layla' in Budokan, Japan

Eric Clapton has performed his first 2019 concert last Saturday night at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan.

To kick off the first of five shows, Slowhand performed 'Layla' on an electric guitar instead of his usual mid-set acoustic version that was performed seated.

Clapton performed a 16-song set that included many covers of famous blues tunes like 'I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man' and 'Before You Accuse Me'. You can see the full setlist below.

In his entire music career, Clapton has played at the famous venue in a total of 96 times. During the encore of his opening set, John Mayer was alongside him on stage to perform 'Cocaine'. Watch the video below.
