Lead vocalist of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, will once again return to cinema screens when the new film, 'The Burnt Orange Heresy', premieres this 7th September.

Directed by Giuseppe Capotondi, the film's cast features Jagger, Donald Sutherland, Claes Bang, and Elizabeth Debicki. The film is set to close this year's Venice Film Festival in an out-of-competition placing.

Festival organisers explained that the neo-noir film about the collision of the art world and the underworld is set in present-day Italy.

"Charismatic art critic, James Figueras (Bang) hooks up with provocative and alluring fellow American Berenice Hollis (Debicki)."

"The new lovers travel to the lavish and opulent Lake Como estate of powerful art collector Joseph Cassidy (Jagger). Their host reveals that he is the patron of Jerome Debney (Sutherland), the reclusive J.D. Salinger of the art world, and he has a simple request: for James to steal a Debney masterpiece from the artist's studio, whatever the cost. As the couple spend time with Debney, they start to realise that nothing about the artist or their mission is what it seems."

Jagger, who turns 76 this Friday, has completed all his filming scenes before his emergency heart surgery in April.
