Watch supergroup The Highwomen covers Fleetwood Mac's hit song, 'The Chain' at Newport Folk Festival below.
Their rendition of the 1977 hit track is due to appear on the soundtrack for the new Andrea Berloff film, 'The Kitchen'.
The Highwomen is a supergroup made up of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires. Their self-titled debut album is due for release this September 2019 via Elektra Records.
The name 'Highwomen' pays homage to the iconic Highwayman supergroup that consisted of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson. The band originally intended to leave the fourth spot in their line-up vacant so that they could invite other female collaborators to join in, but decided to officiate Natalie Hemby as their final member of the quartet.
A studio rendition of their cover is also available to listen below.
Fleetwood Mac will be hitting New Zealand shores once again this September. See the full tour details here.
