Our Sound Workdays host, Heather Keats went along to see Fleetwood Mac last night at Spark Arena, and it was an fantastic night!
Fleetwood Mac performed a two-hour set to a full house at Spark Arena. "It was like a one big party," Heather described. "The audience was singing along to most of the songs, everyone was enjoying themselves, including the band."
When asked upon how the crowd reacted to the two new members, she said, "Neil Finn and Mike Campbell are clearly well loved and the duo are worth while additions to the band."
Heather recalled the best song performances of the night were 'The Chain' and the cover of Split Enz' 'I Don't Know'. Watch a snippet of their performances in the video below.
The Auckland show attendees were also lucky to enjoy a masterful drum solo by Mick Fleetwood during the performance of 'World Turning'. He cheekily played games with the crowd shouting, "Are you with me? Are you really with me? Don't be shy, let it out, let it out, let it out!"
Mick Fleetwood also told the crowd that he heard that song "many, many years ago" and had no idea who sang it or where it came from but it stayed with him for a long time... just before the band jumped into 'Don't Dream It's Over', a classic Kiwi anthem from Crowded House.
In the video, you can hear the crowd singing along with Neil Finn to the lyrics, "Hey now, hey now, don't dream, it's over."
