Sir Macca has released a new animated music video for his 1993 protest song, 'Looking for Changes'.
The video was a collaboration with PETA to spread awareness of the continuous practice of "cruel tests on animals".
Paul McCartney explained that he's looking for changes that will "continue the momentum of getting animals out of laboratories". The longtime animal rights supporter also said, "Experiments on animals are unethical – they're a colossal failure and a waste of time and money. We can and must do better."
Watch the video below.
According to PETA, one of the biggest animal testing funders, National Institutes of Health (NIH) spends more than $18 billion every year on animal testing even though majority tests RARELY lead to treatments that help us, humans. An estimate of 90% of the experiments done don't lead to treatments for humans, and 95% of new drugs that are tested safe and effective on animals will fail in human clinical trials.
"The world’s most forward-thinking scientists have moved on to develop methods for studying diseases and testing products that replace animal experiments and are actually relevant to human health," the statement read. "… PETA is working to make testing on animals a thing of the past, and some encouraging progress has been made toward this end."
