Doobie Brothers reunite with Michael McDonald for 50th anniversary tour

The Doobie Brothers are reuiniting with Michael McDonald, who will front the band for a 50th anniversary tour in 2020. 

The tour will mark the first time in nearly 25 years that McDonald, Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons and John McFee will hit the road together. The 30-date tour was confirmed after McDonald made a surprise guest appearance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashbille this week, joining The Doobies on stage for an encore rendition of classic track 'Takin' it to the Streets' from their first album with him. 

"We’re truly excited about our 50th anniversary tour, as it’s a celebration of the band’s entire history. We’ll be performing songs from our full catalog, as well as new music," Johnston said in a statement.
