Tom Petty's widow and daughters have ended their ugly legal battle over his estate. They also said that they acted badly as a result of "intense grief" after his death in 2017.
A joint statement has confirmed that Petty's family have resolved their differences and "dismissed all litigation matters". Instead, his wife, Dana, and two daughters Adria and Annakim will be managing the estate together.
"Each of them sincerely regrets that in their intense grief over Tom's tragic death, actions were taken that were hurtful to one another," the statement wrote. "We are committed to honouring Tom's voice, music, integrity and his charitable spirit."
All three of them will have equal standing in managing his estate, Tom Petty Legacy LLC. They also noted that they aim to build upon 40+ years of great Tom Petty music and his historic career. They will also be collaborating with Red Light Management to "guide, advise and execute on b ehalf of the estate."
Fans could expect plentiful of previously unheard music. Dana previously said that Petty's vault contains so much material that "everyone needs to hear".
"I just don't want them to think we're greedy, because it's not about the money – it's about getting the stuff out there for the world to love."
