The band played their version of Bob Dylan's Knockin' on Heaven's Door at the Super Bowl Music Fest in memory of the crash victims that included Bryant's daughter, Gianna.
Axl Rose said to the crowd that he witnessed the smoke from the accident while going home from a rehearsal. He said he saw "a fog bank" that mimicked a white thundercloud over tress. He described it as "formidable" while others who returned to his home in different cars described it as "omnious".
Apparently, it was much worse.
"We wanna dedicate this to Kobe, his daughter, everyone on the flight, their families and everyone affected by this terrible event," Rose said before GNR launches into the song.
