As you may have heard on The Sound FM, the Rolling Stones has released a brand new song by surprise titled 'Living in a Ghost Town'.
"The Stones were in the studio recording new material before the lockdown," Mick Jagger said on Twitter. "And one song – 'Living in a Ghost Town' – we thought would resonate through the times we're living in."
Written by frontman Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, the song was originally composed a few years ago but was only completed during isolation with a slight change to the lyrics to echo the current global lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"So, let's cut a long story short. We cut this track well over a year ago in L.A. for part of a new album, an ongoing thing, and then shit hit the fan Mick and I decided this one really needed to go to work right now, and so here you have it, Living in a Ghost Town. Stay safe!" Richards said. Drummer Charlie Watts chimed in, "I enjoyed working on this track. I think it captures a mood and I hope people who listen to it will agree."
