Billy Joel surprised fans with an unannounced appearance at the end of New York City's coronavirus telethon, Rise Up New York last night.
Joel performed 'Miami 2017' accompanied with a light show that was synced on top of the Empire State Building.
The futuristic song was first released in 1976 about an empty New York and the last inhabitants moving elsewhere. While Joel had often described the song as "science fiction", he didn't expect to have any reflections in real life where people have used the song to express their solidarity during trouble times.
