Alex Van Halen breaks silence since Eddie's death

The drummer shared a short heartfelt message for his brother.

Drummer Alex Van Halen has recently shared his first comments since his brother, Eddie Van Halen's death.

"Hey, Ed. Love you," started the brief message, shared on Van Halen News Desk. "See you on the other side. Your brother, Al."

He was reported to be among those at Eddie's side when he passed away on 6th October, succumbing to cancer.

Eddie and Alex formed their first band in 1964 called the Broken Combs. The band went through a number of name changes along the years and by 1974, they welcomed singer David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony to the lineup and officially changed its name to Van Halen.

The band grew in popularity and landed their first record deal in 1977. They released a self-titled debut album in following year, launching them to worldwide stardom.
