'The Beatles: Get Back' to be split into three, two hour long, episodes

"Over six hours, you’ll get to know the Beatles with an intimacy that you never thought possible," says Peter Jackson in a statement.

Peter Jackson's long-awaited documentary is getting closer to release and it looks to be longer than we first thought.

Jackson has spent the last three years working on the documentary, restoring and editing unseen footage around the making of the Beatles' 1970 album and film, Let It Be.

Rather than sitting down for one movie length documentary, Jackson has made the decision to present the project as a three part series, each part being two hours long.

"In many respects, Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s remarkable footage captured multiple storylines," said Jackson in a statement.

"The story of friends and of individuals. It is the story of human frailties and of a divine partnership. It is a detailed account of the creative process, with the crafting of iconic songs under pressure, set amid the social climate of early 1969. But it’s not nostalgia — it’s raw, honest, and human. Over six hours, you’ll get to know the Beatles with an intimacy that you never thought possible."

Part one of 'The Beatles: Let It Be' will be available to watch from November 25th followed by Part 2 on the 26th, and Part 3 on the 27th, on Disney +.
